An Unacceptable Truth

Keeping herself safe has been Cate Harper’s goal for years. She has moved from place to place, trying to stay a step ahead of the people that want to do her harm. She knows they are after her and has gone to great lengths to stay below the radar.

Her past is a muddle of fleeting memories, nightmares and visions that she can never seem to grasp. An attack and a trial are always at the edge of her memory, never quite coming into focus. She remembers vividly her attacker being sentenced to life in prison and the threats his family shouted at her. They promised a life of fear for Cate and when they find her they will offer her nothing but pain and possibly death.

Cate’s life turns upside down when she meets and falls in love with Alex Marshall, NASCAR star and America’s sweetheart. Their romance is what Cate has dreamed of – sweet, loving, and gentle. Cate tells Alex what she can remember about her past and he understands her fear but can he keep her as safe as he has promised? The media seems to photograph his every move and the last thing Cate needs is her photograph splashed across every magazine in the country. Her fear of being found is deep-seated, her past is uncertain, but their love for each other is without question.

As Cate struggles to fill in the blank spots of her memories, she faces crisis after crisis to keep herself out of the spotlight. Can Cate discover the truth about her past and if she does, can she accept it? Or will the truth be too unacceptable for her to endure?
